Travels With Nino
Talk of our town - Joan Fleischman

Due soon in bookstores: Nino Pernetti's Caffe Abbracci Cookbook, by Coral Gables restaurateur Nono Pernetti, "Part recipes, part biography and part travelogue," says the intro by fight doc, painter and writer Ferdie Pacheco, who co-authored with wife Luisits Sevilla Pacheco. The 267-page hardcover is published by the University Press of Florida.

Pernetti, 62, born and raised in Italy, lived in Germany, England, the Bahamas, Afghanistan, Zambia, South Korea, Mexico, Malaysia, Turkey, Venezuela and France.

He names Abbracci's celeb patrons, including Antonio Banderas and Don King, and dishes about catering a soiree for Oprah Winfrey on Fisher Island. Books & Books in the Gables is hosting a release party on May 15th with a 7 p.m. tasting of Pernetti's recipes and an 8 p.m. talk and signing, followed by desserts in the courtyard.
