The Top 8 Power Restaurants in Miami
CAFFE ABBRACCI
October 2009

For 20 years, Nino Pernetti, the charming host of Caffe Abbracci, has cultivated friendships with the rich and famous of Miami and the jetsetters who visit. Guests from Madonna to Rudy Giuliani feel comfortable in this dark and elegant Northern Italian eatery on restaurant row. And while Pernetti has built his reputation on making all those who enter the 140-seater feel like they are on the A-list, he reserves the best tables in the house for very, very special guests. "You always put them at tables where there is kind of less traffic," explains Pernetti. It's why table 1B is where regular Emilio Estefan knows to go. Right next to it, Number 1A is equally desirable during power lunches that are packed every day, but especially on Fridays. Both tables are as far as you could get from the kitchen, bathrooms and hustle. It's where those scoping for big name players are trained to look. "Because at Caffe Abbracci everybody is somebody," says Pernetti. And most days, it's true.
